Cheap flights to Perth for Subiaco Game

If anyone is interested there are $79.95 one way flights form Mel/Perth and Perth/Mel in June when we play West Coast. Flights are with Tiger Airways. Pity it's not from Sydney though.

I bought a Newcastle to Melb return flight on Tiger, to fly down for the game against Collingwood, and the flight cost me $22.90 return, taxes included. I think that's less than a return ticket on the Tullamarine to Spencer St bus!

I bought two tickets from Canberra to Melbourne for the Carlton game- cost me $22.90. Couldnt get tickets that fitted in coming the other way at the $9.90 but will just wait till there is another sale. At worst Ill have to pay $99 a ticket with Virgin- still damn cheap overall!

We're having holidays in Tassie next year. We could have bought tickets for three of us for a total of $59.40 return. But then we would have to rent a car for 3 wekks, so it sort of defeats the purpose of the cheap airfares. We'll probably go by boat and take the car.

        That sale was unbelievable.

Don't Tiger fly in/out of Sydney?
          WTF?

No, Canberra and Newcastle in NSW/ACT at the moment, or when they start flying. I think it's all a matter of terminal space etc.

                Well, that sucks.

Is it worth the two hours driving to newcastle to save money on an airfare??
                That's the big question!!

Checked up the Deathstar site and found that a return Sydney to Launceston for the NAB game will be about $210. "Lonnie" was my second home as a kid, very tempted to go and check out how much it has changed.

Newie airport is OK. The parking is free.

The best thing is flying away & seeing yourself leaving Newcastle behind. The NTL-MEL flight is pretty. JQ flies out along the coast alone the Central Coast. You get a nice view of Sydney as well.

Few more cars on the road, a few less horses on the road....

Locals still have two heads and speak their own dialect of English which is generally inaudible between their coughing and spitting fits....

Parking is free about 400 metres from the airport. They keep extending the pay parking bays (which are much cheaper than Sydney). Abd The view as you fly past Sydney just out over the ocean looking down the Harbour is spectacular.
