i believe that kirk should be given sole captaincy duties

For once I find myself agreeing with someone on this site....

Kirk consistently shows a depth of character and perserverance that is a valuable attribute in a Captain.

The 3 captain's idea doesn't work.... these guys are footballers after all and need just one Captain to follow not 3!!

I can understand someone preferring a one-captain system. We all have different opinions.

But it is hard to substantiate your claim that a multi-captain system doesn't work given the Swans' on-field success while they've used this approach.

There seems to be such a fine line between Goodes at his best and at his worst, so I wonder if the added pressure of captaincy may be too much of a distraction for him?

His form fluctuation is directly proportional to how he is going in the female stakes.

The bigger news is that Ben Mathews has decided to stand down from the leadership group.

Alot of people on this board still don't believe that Roos and the match committee are going about quietly making large structural changes to the team for next year.

Ben stepping down from the leadership group to me, shows that Roos has put on notice the likes of Mathews, Crouch, Buchanen, Bolton (along with the trading of Dempster and Scheinder) that the young blokes [B]will be[B] given first priority next year to play senior football and if that be at the expense of older players so be it.

Mark my words the team that runs out round 1 next year will be vastly different to the one that finished 2007.

His job is the STOP THE BALL from going into the opposition's forward line. He does his job well. Ok, he can't kick for @@@@, and has the odd panic attack, but he does his appointed job well.

Image if there was a player capable of stopping the ball AND kicking AS WELL as not having panic attacks.
