    Rance would be awesome.

If Pears lasted till 26 that would be a bargin.

Jack Grimes, who is similarly rated to Rance, is also a strong tip for No.11. Lachlan Henderson, Ben McEvoy and Patrick Dangerfield could come into play,
That is part of his comment within the no 11 blurb. I had read elsewhere that the Swans were very interested in Dangerfield but so much stuff is written on the net with apparent authority that it's hard to work out if any of it has basis in reality. Certainly Dangerfield has been described as one of the few potential mids with real leg speed and Roos' post-season comments suggest that might be appealing.

Andy Ottens for pick two would be great. i have heard that Sydney are super roy keane on him. mark my words if avaliable we will take him. tall versatile midfielder ala goodes.

if he is good would love robbie tarrant. big gorilla foward with big endurance and good speed. at 26 would be another option.

        IMO

rance at 11 if avaliable fills major need.

        tarrant at 26.

        KPB KPF and a midfielder.

this is very positive as our midfield is stocked up with youngsters ready to be given the oppotunity and Bird a genuine in and under extractor. we then have a KP back who can rebound and is a genuine 10 year player. then a gamble with a mobile gorilla foward. really exicted if these two could be taken,

these names should be given game time and oppotunities. can really see three of them stepping up with White a on a learning curve.

        Barlow-Wing/Midfield
        White- CHB CHF
        O'Keefe- Small foward, FP
Laidlaw- HBF (not confident with him after recruiting Mattner. have trouble finding room for him, Mattner, Malceski & Kennely. Could see Laidlaw and Mattner on both wings etc. Mal & Tiger on HBF)

especially O'Keefe a smart foward, can play the schnieder role ala 2003.

We don't need another tall forward atm. Hall and Mickey are still kicking and we have Grundy and White waiting in the wings.

We should be looking at a quick midfielder with pick 26.

I agree with Rance at 11 though, whether he will be available is another thing.

We're not recruiting for ATM, we're recruiting for a year or two down the track.

The less time our draftees spend in the Canberra league the better.

                disagree robbo.

Grundy is not someone you can build a team around.

Hall is not getting any younger neither with Micky O. In two years time we will need a new FF. CHF. with Bazza & Mago retired.

JW looks good but we must keep in mind that he is not a genuine star and there is no gaurntee that he will be. he only took up football three years ago.

from the way i see it, the future is bright, however we must look to replenish the stocks while we can still remain on top.

IMO the main areas we will lack are KP fowards and backs. with the midfield being a little slow. we have a first class ruckman for the next five years. IMO the best player in the competition in Goodes and the best rebounding defender & wing men. O'Keefe & Davis should be in the foward line for our next stint at a flag.

The players we pick on Saturday won't make significant contributions until 2+ years down the track. So we would be looking for Hall/Micky O replacements.

Is Guy O'Keefe another relation? Also from the Geelong falcons. ROK DOK and GOK

I just think we need to look at a quick mid.

With Simpkin, Phillips and Schneider all leaving we're pretty light on for leg speed. And Craig Bird couldn't run out of sight in a dark night from what I hear.

I don't understand your previous comment. 1 game came from Phillips & Simpkins last year and i can't exactly say that they're leg speed was evident.

Schnieder is not really quick either. We do look a little slow, however we have lacked a classy outside midfielder since paul williams. and even then he was not all too quick. i think Laidlaw can be groomed in this role. with Barlow an apprentice to Goodes

The problem is, guys like Ben Mathews and Jude Bolton kept Laidlaw out of the side in 07 despite gastly form.

                        Barlow isn't that quick either.

Having worked with this kid for a year I hope we take him before the Doggies get there! A finer pair of hands you won't see, and his ability to read the game is second to none. He's versaitle (plays forward or back) and has amazing maturity for one of the younger kids in the draft. Throw in the fact that he's grown a bit and put on a fair bit of muscle over the off-season and he'd be a VERY handy pickup!

As others have stated, anyone we get at 26, would be extremely lucky to get a senior game within 18months/2years.
