Throw in the fact that he's grown a bit and put on a fair bit of muscle over the off-season and he'd be a VERY handy pickup!

Of the internet speculation that is around, the AFL site is probably the best informed and is based on talking to most of the recruiters.

If you read the blurbs for each player, you'll see we've been linked with about a dozen or so players all up.

I think we'll go tall this year - and when you look at our spine, we really need to. Hall, MOL and Barry are in their twilight and there really isn't obvious replacements coming through.

Here's hoping Murphy can be a CHF, but I suspect he'll be used more as a midfielder.

I'd be ecstatic if we got Rance. If he's gone by #11 then hopefully we go for Collier.

That's not correct, while he was dropped after his only game he then spent extended time on the injury list after that with hamstring trouble which basically ruled him out of any further senior team action.

Laidlaw would have played more senior football after the Geelong game had he had not been unavailable for that crucial 4 or 5 week period.

The Geelong game was in round 12 or something. Laidlaw had been tearing it up in the ressies from round 1.

Apart from his annual whinge about the draft, Roosey gives us a tiny hint about what to expect at pick 11 on Saturday morning.

Roos said the Swans are seeking to add some speed to their rather workmanlike midfield.

Roos referred to information released by Champion Data that concluded that pick No.10 in the AFL draft averaged just over 30 games for their career
I was really surprised by this statistic, but Roosy's right it is a lottery.
The Swans will have all option's covered, and dont forget you can listen live on SEN.com.au

I saw that. Seriously how many more midfielders do we possibly need?

I seriously believe that our midfield is too defensive and we need more speed there. I must agree with Roos on this one. Finally, he admits that overly defensive play is not productive either.

                            We need more speed.

It's a hole we've dug for ourselves by getting rid of quick blokes and keeping Ben Mathews.

Even though we will have too many mids, we really need that extra quick bloke.

Speed is second on the adgenda...With Mattner, Laidlaw, Malcesk & Kennelly going in and out of the midfield this year, i think we have enough speed and recievers.

                              Height is the issue.

Imagine if Magic, Leo & Hall had retired this year(realistic they may retire next). What would we have done? play O'Keefe at CHF Davis at FF & Brennan at FB?

It is very realistic that this could be the last year for Leo & Bazza, and Mago is one serious injury away.

Height, If Rance is avaliable he would be a god send.

Agree. Rance fills an immediate need.

Schneider was replaced by a winger in Mattner so there's another into the midfield.

Laidlaw and DOK are speed coming into the side

Braba, Thornton, Bird and Moore to come in as well.

Hall, Magic and Leo have 1-2 years left leaving us with only White, Faulks (not a true KPP looking at him in ressies) and Playfair to come in as KPP players. Brennan is a flanker.

If we choose 11 on Rance, he will be the immediate replacement to Leo.
If we choose 26 on say Robbie Tarrant, he will be the immediate replacement for Hall (White can go to CHF).
