Isn't it funny how Alan Aylett, a board member of North, was vocal in his support of a move to the Gold Coast. He couldn't possibly have said "stay in Melbourne" because he was the swine who tried to shaft Fitzroy to Sydney and when that didn't work turned on us like a rabid Hyena.

I would suggest Andrew D is taking shafting lessons from old Al. This move to get North to the Gold Coast was sly and deceitful and you can bet if he is still in the chair, any attempt to establish another club in the Western Suburbs of Sydney will be just as filthy. Look out Footscray, North and whoever else from Melbourne who might be battling.

They just expect people to jump out of trees to support AFL no matter where they go to. Just smacks of another high flying corporate trying to justify his job by lying and grandstanding. We have a great comp now why bugger it by watering it down with another club.

Headlines in 2050: Tennant Creek gets the 25 AFL License.

            You are kidding, right?

Why would they call them "Western Swans"?

It's more likely to be the Western Bulldogs relocated.

Until it actually happens I would say that it is best just to refer to a Western Sydney team.

Sounds like a tactic used by real estate agents to boost house prices.

Inner west extends to Concord maybe, but not Homebush Bay. Once you hit the M4 you are in the western suburbs as far as I'm concerned.

You seem to think that a team in Western Sydney has to have a stadium in Blacktown or Penrith. That overlooks the fact that the MCG is not in Collingwood and Telstra Dome is not in St Kilda, and all the rugby league teams who play at Testra Stadium are not based in Homebush Bay. South Sydney wis a case in point.

Thye Western Bulldogs are based in Footscray, one suburb west of the city, they are in the western suburbs of Melbourne. I would guess that any suburb west of Sydney CBD would realistically be called the western suburbs. After all the measure is where the suburb is in relation to the capital citys CBD.

Tell that to someone who lives in Glebe, Balmain or Newtown.

I was thinking about this thread yesterday when someone was talking about Hawthorn and I said I went and watched nearly all their games at York Park. They will never be my second team as I will never forgive them for all those horrible thrashings in the 80's, but I really enjoy going along to those games.
