I was excited about the premiership but NOT that excited.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

            1. Bobby Skilton - not only the best Swan, but THE best ever!

            2. Graeme John - I used to wear his number 7 as a kid.

            3. Tony Morwood - A star player and doing a brilliant job as the Swans Melbourne manager.

            4. Barry Hall - SO important in '05!

            5. Barry Round - top player, top bloke.

              I reckon you're right.
After reading Shake down the Thunder recently, I never realised how much influence he has had on the club over the past 10+ years.
He, McMasters and a few others have done a terrific job @ the off field roles.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Funny I thought this was your 5 "Favourite" players - not necessarily your "Best". Nobody has mentioned Troy Luff!

Hard decision but for me probably

Warwick Capper - probably the one that got me interested in the Swans. Those freakish marks are still something to behold.

Darryn Cresswell - for many things but loved in particular the 2003 Final vs Port for a couple of things - that goal he kicked second or 4th quarter from a superb long pass from C Bolto, had a paddock into the 50m and steadied himself beautifully with a couple of stutter steps before banging it through - and then later grabbing his jumper and showing it to the crowd at the end.

Jared Crouch - under-rated. Outsprinted, outplayed Chris Judd in the dying seonds of the first quarter 05 GF to set up a goal and put Swans in front at end of first quarter. I backed the Swans at the TAB to be in front in every quarter that day - thanks Crouchy! (the div was pretty piss weak)

Tony Lockett - probably the best footballer I have ever seen since the late sixties (and that includes not just the Vic players but the WA champs as well)

Heaps more - almost all of the 96 crowd and through to today - Wade Chapman - the forgotten man in the 96 Prelim he was the one who banged it to Lckett in the dying seconds, Roos, Stewie Maxfield, Jason Ball, Tadhg, Troy Cook, who can forget that ex West Perth champion DEREK KICKETT.
