More Irish On the way. We could be the first All-Ireland AFL team.

Surely there are enough potential players already residing in Australia. Does this not make it feel as if young Australian kids are losing chances to the Irish. I don't think it fair that's all.

Which AFL team will be the first to be "Globally Resourced" to Ireland? Perhaps the Northern Kangaroos could become the Northern Hemisphere Kangaroos?

I agree that the current craze seems to be bring boys from overseas and see if they can adapt to AFL.Thats good and all in theory but besides it being another expense to worry about what about the kids who've worked their butts off for years to be drafted, don't you think they should get a foot in the door first and be well and truly tried out to the max before we bring in any more migrants. We have migrant boys in the Soccer League. The difference is that they are drawing big crowds to watch them. They knew how to play before they come here.
Maybe set up a schools program for AFL in Ireland where the boys can learn about the game both in theory and practice.Sort them out over there and if they look the goods then bring them over.

I think many are missing the point of all of this.

Sydney are not in a position to finish down the ladder. We are trying to find other ways of getting players, that had they always played AFL, would be viewed as a first round or high pick in the draft.

This gives us the talent without having to finish low on the ladder.

If this player were to join the Swans, he'd be taking up a rookie list spot. Chances are he has as much chance, if not more chance of making it than another player picked from Australia for that same spot.
