Anyone else tired of the off-season?

As a supporter, I must admit I enjoyed October, November and December. Last season was pretty stressful so it was nice to have a break.

But in the last few weeks the hunger to watch a game of footy has come back. I can't wait for the season to start because I'm well and truly sick of seeing no footy every weekend.

So how about everyone else, are we starting to get excited about 2008?

    Right on Robbo.

I hate this time of year ... all there is to watch is cricket and tennis.

    Booooorrrrreeeeeeeee meeeeeeeeeee.

I like to go through the "taped game box", pick one out at random and watch it. That helps.

My exact thoughts Robbo. October through to December I was enjoying the stress free break from worrying about the Swannies' weekly performances. Now 2008 and the first match is 4 weeks away Sunday (NAB Cup)....BRING THE SEASON ON!!
      Swannies for life!

Perhaps the reason October, November and December are a bit easier to get through is because of the various drafts and the trading that goes on. It keeps you occupied.

During January, there's absolutely nothing going on.

I have a question for you all, Is anybody looking forward to going a bit further in the NAB cup this year? Or are we not fussed either way?

                I predict a loss by 63 points

Read somewhere that Roosy won't be playing people who have been in rehab as there is a limit to the interchanges in the NAB cup...so looks like youngsters again and straight out to play in the challenge cup with normal rules.

I started a thread a little while ago expressing the same sentiments.

I absolutely cannot wait for season '08 to start.

2008 - excitement with a dose of reality

If we only win 2 games all year I want them to be against the West Coast Evils by 100 points each.

I can't wait until the season starts not just because of the Swans but most of the games. There were so many great games in 2007. But to play deep into September this year you are going have to be fast and mostly 'down the corridor'. Do we have a strong Centre Half back and centre half Forward????

I think there are some teams that are going to follow Geelong's lead from 2007... be equipped to defend but attack attack attack. I think the cats, saints and pies will be frontrunners. The season will be action packed and hope the swans can rise above the 2007 form.

No complaints from me. We should give our youngsters every bit of experience possible.

Who knows, they might even jag a victory.

I think it's traditional now that we lose the first game of the Ansett Cup so that we can go and concentrate on other things ... like H&A footy.

The Ansett Cup is for teams like the poor tiggers. Makes 'em feel good and special if they win it (something ... anythiing!!).

The club isn't interested in the NAB cup. The Nab cup is played in all sort of weird places, like Cairns, and Darwin, and these are not the sort of places or conditions you want your players playing in February. Give me the challenge cup where if its too hot, the coaches can agree to shorten the quarters, play more interchanges and pretty much do anything, and has the added bonus of less travel.
