    Craig Bird

I am officially on the bandwagon. He reminded me of Pendlebury, and I have been dreaming of the day we can get him. Not the same shape obviously but has that awareness of space and others around him. Can create space where others block it up.

    I'm excited.

Even when he was on the far railway wing you could see who it was by the way he would move around people and come out with the ball.

Any other takers for a spot on the bandwagon.

    Save me a seat.

Liked his game today. He can certainly read the game.

Can I be on the bandwagon of 3 Swans players? If so book me a seat. Looks to be a steal from the NSW scholarship scheme.

Who needs Eski when we have Bird! Okay, we do need Eski, but YEAH! I'm on the wagon.

Definitely impressed with his game today. If this is a taste of what's to come, then I'm fully on board.

Save me a seat too please. Along with O'Dwyer and Jesse White. All three to be in the team by round 3 thanks.

I agree with you on those three.

Add Mattner to the list and that'll be at least 4 making their Swans debuts.

I have been screaming out for one. His work made McVeigh and Bolton look rank amateurs.

What I liked about Bird was his instinct to move forward instead of in circles like the afforementioned. That snap was outstanding as he looked to go left, saw there was only handball options covered, so went right to only a little space but enough to get his boot to it and deliberately had a shot and knew instinctively where the goals were.

The likes of Bevan, Mathews, Bolton and McVeigh would have given it off to a sitting target. I said to my son, "at last a midfielder who knows where the goals are".

Give him the #14 jersey! Oh wait...

A good chance for Round 1 now with a few usual suspects out.

How extremely ordinary did Bird, White, O'dwyer, Moore, Bruce etc make that lot look!
