C'mon Nico of course they wont, you know the Swans by now and Roosy does have his favourites.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Unlikely other players that have come to the club, Bird has already been playing the Swans structure for at least one season.

It means he will already be up to reserve level pace, and is competing with previous drafts (2006) rather than the 2007 draftees.

Dicky Bird is 150/1 for the Rising Star on Sportsbet. Could be worth a small investment.

I might put a tenner on him.

$50 might be too much but it will be a good pay if I put even $10 on him.

But I'm a bit worried though, he might not play in every game.

Yep. Plus the fact that he's less than three months younger than someone like DOK, has a far more solid build, and played much more footy last year than DOK means it shouldn't come as a surprise if he's more AFL ready than our first draft pick from last year.

I'm up to reserve level pace.

Brabazon and Thornton were playing ABOVE reserve level pace in 2005.

I just went on line and couldn't find it on TAB Sportsbet. Only had Brownlow and Coleman medal.

I get your drift, but they have given him no.14 and he just seemed to have the X factor on Sunday. He looks to have the goods beyond his years as far perception goes and thinks quickly.

I am sure deep down Roos knows when someone has genuinely got it at that age. He was a prodigy at 18. Besides he must know that our midfield needs regeneration NOW.

Nico, not TAB Sportsbet, just Sportsbet, the Darwin mob. It would only let me bet $20 at 150/1, when I tried agian he had come down to 100/1. Guess there is a bit of money going down on him.

1000/1 for the Brownlow on TAB Sportsbet.

Another thing I have noticed about Bird is that he keeps his feet in a close in contest which is an absolute must for a midfielder.

That's true, but he definitely does deserve some games.

Id love to see him there in rd 1 but going on our record of blooding youth its hard to see him getting a run without some injuries.

I'd like to think the unfortunate injury to Malceski might give him a better chance of getting some regular good game time this year (I know they are completely different players, but there will need to be a far reshuffle caused by the loss of Malceski which might give him a place in the squad). Really excited by him, hope he lives up to his potential!
