But I'm a bit worried though, he might not play in every game.
I have a sneaking suspicion he will. As long as he is fit enough for AFL level he has got to be in contention to start the H&A season.

I'll be putting some money on him for the rising star - something between $10 and $50 ha.

Would it ever! Seriously considering it myself, but I don't exactly have a "spare $50", so it's risky.

            Yours perhaps?

I imagine at this stage of the season it wouldn't take much to shift the odds quite a bit.

But it wouldn't last long! You should know how much those pesky little things cost and the bigger they get the more they cost. You're stuck with them for at least 16 years.

I'm on the Bird bandwagon. I was from the moment I saw him on the field. For a 19 year old midfielder, he is BIG, but he's also very quick, and seems to have a great footy brain. I might just slip some money on him for the Rising Star myself.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I'm heading to the TAB at lunch time today.

                              That is ridiculously light on!

                              TAB sportsbet are a disgrace.

I am sure deep down Roos knows when someone has genuinely got it at that age. He was a prodigy at 18. Besides he must know that our midfield needs regeneration NOW.

The last time we had a kid burst onto the scene like this was in 2003 when Schneider announced himself in a big way at an otherwise miserable NAB Cup game against Brisbane at Stad Oz. He very quickly became a first team regular. I expect the same with Dicky Bird this year.
