Bird looked bloody good out there on Sunday. O'Dwyer showed a lot as well, and I really like the look of Jesse White. Danny O'Keefe impressed me as well, despite having a bad game. He looked to me like a good player having a bad day, rather than a bad player having an ordinary day. Meredith did some nice things as well. In fact, I can't really hold anything against any of our young players that game. Almost without exception, they looked completely comfortable out there, which is a far cry from last year, when they looked very much like boys playing men. This time they were men playing men, and it bodes very well. Terlich is perhaps an exception. He looks good, but doesn't look quite ready for it all yet. Faulks perhaps as well. Maybe give him a year to fill out a bit, though he undoubtedly has great potential.

Let's hope that Bird doesn't fly the coupe, and that the great White can shark the ball well when neccesary, helping us snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

My main man, won't let us down. I have every confidence in his ability to kick some arse this year.

Given that he's Rhino's cousin, he has to be good, right?

Nah, but seriously, I was actually impressed by DOK. As I said, he didn't have a good game at all, but he looked like he belonged out there. Even the best players have bad days, and he looked like that. A good player having a @@@@ty day.

The one that really impressed me when watching the replay was Meredith. First game for his new side and came up with some very neat handballs. Timing was perfect to set up some plays and he looks like he knows where to find the ball.
