    Channel 7 Footy Show

I notice that 7 HD is advertising a footy show on Sundays. Programme indicates that it is showing next Sunday (Easter).

    AFL Game Day
    10:00am - 11:00am | 7HD PG Sport, Closed Captions
Channel Seven's highly-anticipated new weekly footy panel show, AFL Game Day, will tackle all the big footy issues, review and preview the weekend's games and have a bit of fun along the way. TV newcomer and footy nut HAMISH MCLACHLAN will host the show, with some of the best names in football on the panel. Leading AFL journalists will also join the panel, along with special guest stars from the football and media world.

Once again Channel 7 not willing to take a chance on its main channel but seems to be testing the water in the HD arena. Still it's something I guess.

Just looking at the free to air programme for this week-end for Sydney: both stations have a Thursday night game, nothing Friday, Ten has Swans game Saturday night, nothing Sunday and Seven appears to have the Monday afternoon game from 2.00 to 5.00pm.

It's in The Age TV guide for ordinary mortal TV.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Sydney doesn't really follow AFL, therefore we don't need to see any AFL programming on normal TV in prime time.

However, the clowns who run the AFL think we need a second team.

        WTF???
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I was always wondering about that. Why not using the technology to use it to your advantage and taht goes for Ch 9 and 10 as well. All AFL stuff could be shown in Sydney on their alternatives channels and wouldn't cost much more either, because all those extra channels are already broadcasted simultaneously.

If you're referring to the extra channels like "7 Digital 1" (and "2", "3", etc) then only one channel is actually broadcast - the others are just "pointers" to the same video/audio stream of them main channel. Ditto for "2" and "21", "1" and "12". Total bandwidth determines how many different video streams they can broadcast.

I agree in principal with you but the show stopper is that the commercial channels are not allowed to have totally different content on their various logical channels. They can only be different "angles" of the same event. The HD channel is the exception to this rule. The ABC and SBS have different rules.
