Tanking controversy has once again rocked the AFL. This time the accused is Saints Coach, Ross Lyon who was heard to say to his players "If McVeigh gets the ball, dont tackle him, dont stop him...just let him have it"

When asked why he gave his players that instruction Lyon claimed that he "definitely wanted to win the game...and in that case the safest strategy was to stop the Swans kicking a goal. What better way was there than to have the ball in the position of a player whose own coach makes jokes of the fact that he cant kick a goal?"

When asked his opinion on the controversy Paul Roos stated that "there was alot of confusion out there. I told my guys not to kick it to Jarrad any more...but it seems that they thought I meant not to kick it to Jarred Moore"
