    Chris Judd

Did anyone see his debut tonight?

Either he is lacking general match fitness or his groin is completely rooted still. Every time the camera was on him it looked like he was in pain, and he just seemed very tentative in general.

He's shot. He'll still produce quality football, especially in comparison to his teammates, but his best wont return.

      Nothings changed.

He still gets seconds more than anybody else to dispose of it when tackled AND apparently he can just fend guys away in the face and HE gets the free kick.

I like Judd, he goes about his work without all the @@@@ and fanfare on the field that some other great players deemed necessary, trying to influence umpires etc (Buckley, Carey), but this obsession the umpires have with him to give him the absolute fairest of fair goes just @@@@s me.

I couldn't believe the fend in the face, only for him to get a free kick.

IMO the commentators were still orgasming every time he touched the ball and the umpires protect him. When tackled he gets far longer to dispose of the ball than any other player, that this happens is just bizarre.

After the groin surgery it is supposed to be nearly mid season before he is back to 100% movement. I thought he was fine.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm surprised the Richmond player wasn't reported for headbutting Judds hand.

Agree. He has had no pre-season, just played half a practice game to my knowledge. His fitness will no doubt improve and will be a better play mid way through the year. That's if injury doesn't intervene.

I'm also sick of the commentators carrying on about Judd. Just let him play FFS.

Agree, a no fuss player, does what he has to do, with the ball.

Also he did get pinged when Johnson snagged his jumper in the 2nd Q. did a 360, handballed perfectly, but go done for HTB.

Yep, he'd still be a bit struggling for a while. Still a class player.

Judd still looked classy, though pained at times.

But for sheer passion and entertainment, Richo was definitely B.O.G.

Looks like another pretty ordinary year for Carlton. They just don't have any heart.

Looked very ordinary, not contesting, chasing, breaking tackles etc the way you expect Judd to - if this wasn't Round 1 proclaiming the arrival of the Messiah you'd doubt he would've played.

You can't expect much from Judd given his pre-season surgery yet the usual suspects (Lane and Walls) were having their wankfest in the commentary box whenever Judd got the ball or when Carltank were leading.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

I think people were expecting way too much from Judd at this stage. The problem was that the Carlton players also believed that the Tigers were going to poop themselves once they saw him on the ground. Of course that didn't happened that's why Carlton lost. Judd can't do everything by himself.
