"Stupid Rule by Stupid people" - Malthouse on MMM today

I hate Collingwood but shucks thanks Mick for saying what the rest of the AFL community (except of course for andy "carlton don't tank" dee and his sidekick Anderson) thinks about the stupid rule changes each year.

I expect a fine and a big deal to be made. But hey Carltank didn't tank and Paul Roos is a match fixer who should be shamed.

Ahh god bless mick! Helped heal tonights loss!

He'll get fined for telling the truth and what everyone else is thinking about these rule changes

What did he say? I was in Melbourne for the game and avoided all forms of media.

We all know he was having a go at that clown Adrian Anderson who funnily enough has not received the respect from most of the coaches as someone in his position should.

I guess thats what happens when you're a lawyer trying to dictate to former champions how the game should be played when the best you did was play amateurs.

Good too see Mick was not fined..i guess it would have made the AFL look even sillier.

its the quote of the year - Andy & Ady must be spitting chips - so why didnt Mick get investigated and asked for a "please explain" like Roos did?

Because he apologised, according to Vlad that's all u have to do.

The hypocrisy of the AFL continues to stagger.

I see - hmm I have a feeling that its going to be a very ugly year both on and off the field - not wanting to take the "us against them" route (which makes us sound like a bunch of sooks) but the indicators thus far are pointing in that direction. What can you do other than ?

I reckon Malthouse knew what he was doing and always meant to apologise if he needed to. It's a little like a lawyer saying something in a trial. The jury is asked to disregard it, but it is still in the minds of the jurors, no matter how much they are told to disregard it. This statement will stick in peoples minds for years to come, "stupid rules by stupid people". I say well done MM.

Good point - perhaps Roos should have just said "sorry fella's was having a bit of a laugh" maybe then the saga wouldnt have happened - who knows!

Still reckon MM said it straight and its probably what 99% of the football public think. Mind you the "stupid people" referred too probably think that Mick is talking about somebody else.

If people have to apologise for giving their opinion then it's a sad state of affairs.
