I can't believe how many people have passed judgment about a lot of teams after round 1. It's like Geelong should just be given the flag already and that 3/4 of the comp should just be playing for draft picks.

I have never seen such an over reaction! Maybe its due to a really crappy cricket season or people just need a distraction from the woes of the interest rates. I dunno what it is.

And Geelong won by 9 points to a team they pumped by 100+ and yet there are no bad reports about them. And the arrogance of the cats supporters atm is starting to become unbearable with most of the cat fans suddenly becoming arbitrators of what is good footy and what is bad footy. With many passing judgement on the swans.

I really hope for their sake the cats string 5 or more loses just to bring them back to earth. See what winning by 100+ in a grand final produces!

that article from Connolly was just trash imo.... I emailed him and told him so to. What I hate most is that many so called 'experts' spend all day whingeing on about how Sydney tries to Bore teams to death etc but never do they actually make any suggestions on how else we are suppose to try and play effectively with our current list. And as for Saturday night, it was as much the fault of St Kilda then us I feel for the way the match was played. For they have no excuse with their line up, especially now with the forward line they have to play in that style.

That's why I gave the thread the title I did.

I would love to see a game where we smash a team like Hawks did to Melbourne yesterday.
We did that to Richmond a few years ago. Does it guarantee the Hawks a flag?

This has really been annoying me, and the Hawk fans are the same. Geelong wins one flag in almost 50 years, and suddenly they've never had a bad season?

That was in 2006. I only remember because it was my birthday and my Dad was at the game with us.

The hawk fans are the same i agree! After 10 years of "rebuilding aka tanking" they are now premiership certainties are the only team to match geelong if you listen to their supporters. My mate a hawthorn man thinks that the hawks will beat geelong in the grand final and all he talks about is Hawthorn this and Hawthorn that and when i mention the swans he quickly changes the topic back to how the hawks are gonna smash geelong this year and win the flag for the next zillion years because Buddy will do it for them.

Melbourne are the new Fitzroy. The club is in crisis and just a rabble. Remind me of Fitzroy circa 1995-96. So i wouldnt get too excited if i were hawk fans.

Yep - great game. That's how you make an exciting game, not by kicking only 6 goals each!

Saturday's game reminded me of that shocker we played against the Saints when Eade was still coach back in 2002 - same application of the flood, and almost the same result in a low scoring game.

Exactly - obviously some didnt enjoy watching last years Grand final because of the score blow out and the fact that they hate Geelong but as for fast free flowing attacking footy it couldnt be faulted. Dont forget Sydney fans were just as unbearable after we won the flag so its only fair to let the Cats supporters have their time in the sun too. I just wish we had a plan B, because after saturday nights game it seems not much has changed at all.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
