I thought that was strange too. I recall saying quite succintly that I wouldn't boo him.

Am very happy he did a couple of typically Schneideresque stuff-ups in the last quarter. I don't think he will amount to much at the Aints.

Best footy behind him. When he had peroxide tips & was after Brownlow votes.

Shocker? Looked alright to me. Compared to a few of our blokes, he was pretty good!

I was there and Schneider wasn't booed until he was having a set shot for goal in the 4th quarter. By then, I think the Swans fans were sick and tired of the booing and abuse that Barry Hall gets every time he goes near the ball so they were reacting to that. The fact that St.Kilda were doing well with the umps probably didn't help either.

if you were in my aisle (5) on saturday night you might have seen me - i was the one that stood up and told you all to shut up! couldnt believe the booing - Paul Roos was the one you needed to boo not Schneider.
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

I did notice some boos come through once on the telecast, but that was when St Kilda had kicked back from HBF to Schneider deep in the back pocket and I thought that they were maybe just boos at the clock icing.

Considering he didn't ask for the trade and was by all reports devastated to hear about it, I don't think he's quite booing material.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think that again was a reaction to the Saints supporters, who booed the Swans when they chipped it around trying to find a way into the forward 50 which had 18 defenders in it. It was interesting to note that when the reverse was the case the Saints were clapping their players chipping it around.

They are the dumbest supporters in the AFL, bar none. They actually make the Collingwood ferals look like they have university degrees.

Seriously get over it. I for one am happy at seeing the back of him. He offered us nothing..ok against the saints in 05 but for me that quarter was due to a team rising as one.

He proved to all of us why we decided to trade him. Game in the balance and sprays it wide. He did the same in the NAB cup and he did a lot for us.

Newsflash he is gone and never coming back. So you might as well start removing all the schneider posters from your walls. Until i see Schnides dominate 4-6 games injury free then yeah i will say we erred. But until then i am safe to say that the swans did the right thing.

And to say we should boo paul roos..please grow up and learn. it's a reason why he is our coach and you are online having a sulk about "little schnides".

Agreed. He could be in the bottom 10 players playing afl. Serious.

What rubbish to hear the commentators during the NAB cup say what a great pick.

Swans should have rid of him years ago.

No stamina, discipline and always jokes when matters.
He only has to kick 2 goals a game to hold his spot and never did.

On the weekend was probably the most he ever contributed to the Swans

You should read the papers. I am convinced that

                      a) too many journos in Melbourne atm with 3/4 of them just being outright lazy in terms of research.

                      b) Most of them only watch 1 minute highlight packages and then base their match reports on that.

The Hun is saying that Schnides played a very good game on Saturday. I mean wtf i thought Schnides played his typical game and again justified to us why we let him go.

i guess its the same journos who have Jude Bolton as one of our best when he clearly wasn't after watching a 1 minute hightlights package.

regardless of whether or not you think he was a good player,
booing Schneider = disappointing. The bloke didn't ask to be traded, and while I personally would have liked to see him develop into a better player while still in the red and white (after all he is only 23!), I think it's time to move on. (and this is directed at his fans and critics alike! )

I'll still keep an eye on his progress at the Saints though as I enjoyed watching him play especially in 2003 and the second half of 2005.

I think booing him was wrong but at the same time i won't cop swans fans clapping him as well.

It's a mixed bag b/c yes he didn't ask to be traded but he did have plenty of opportunities and just didn't take them. To me he had this aura about being immune from being dropped or traded due to premiership points which i think maybe contributed to his sometime lazy attitude. I think it would have cut the swans board up but they had a similar player who could do more in Amon. Same build same style.

So in the end it was schnides who had to go.

I aint gonna boo him but at the same time i am not going to be bitter about it. I thank schnieder for his efforts in red and white but it was time for him to move on and wish him all the best in his new environment!

                                Schneider, Hall and bad language

I was in aisle 16 (docklands/ferris wheel flank) among a big swans contingent. Didn't hear any booing of Schnieder. I yelled out good luck at your new club.

None of the saints supporters in our area booed Hall but we could hear it from the city wing loud and clear.

There was one saint supporter near us - he was enjoying the game but used a lot of profanity when the swans got the ball. We were among lots of families so I mentioned to security that the guy wasn't aggressive just using inappropriate language around young kids - they didn't want to know. 10 minutes later a notice goes on the scoreboard - please do not use offensive/inappropriate language - as if that did a lot of good. I suppose all clubs have those supporters but parents should be able to take the kids to the footy without worrying about excessive use of profanity.
