Thanks Scott. Interestingly if you take out the high possession getters of the backmen then our effectiveness drops under 70%.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I think there are two reasons why our defence have such high effectiveness ratios. One is that a number of their disposals are rebounding or transferring in the clear to free players. The other is that they're generally good users of the ball.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Some of the passing between the defenders last night was so so sweet. There were a few times when I thought someone received the ball when they were too hot but they all seemed to have a tremendous sense of where a team mate was.
Mattner's hands, in particular, impressed me. I knew he was a great tackler, good runner and pretty good kick. I hadn't realised how reflexive his hands were.Comment
