Disagree. I've seen him lay some tackles before. He's played as a tagger before, with decent success. If you ask me, McVeigh is just one of those not-particularly-creative players who only does what he's told. Roos has told him to be a ball-runner, to hang back outside packs and pick up uncontested possessions, so that's what he does, and only what he does. Early on in his career McVeigh played as a tagger a few times, and tackled reasonably well. Chuck him in there, and see how he goes. If he is being killed, switch him out.
Anyway, if Goodes can play as a tagger, McVeigh can!Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

McVeigh has played tagger, and it hasn't quite worked well enough for it to be a permanent fixture. I'd prefer him in the forward line adding pressure to the defenders and kicking some opportunistic goals.
Btw, I thought getting rid of Mathews was a step in a more attacking direction, but yet we still produced a nothing score."In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment

From what I've been reading, looks like we'll have 22 taggers this w/e.Originally posted by Dr DiabolicalIt's a waste to make McVeigh a tagger again. Played his worst football as a tagger. He needs to focus on getting the ball (and hopefully improving his disposal).
Wonder if Roos will be sitting next Williams for the match just to keep an eye on things.Comment

You must be joking. I'm not even going to talk about his embarrassing head ducking. Having watched nearly every game he's played, I can't remember him ever laying a good hard tackle. Sure he leans on players who are over the ball occasionally, but that's about it. He was a soft, ineffective tagger and can't kick straight when put forward. He's had 59 chances, in varing roles, and given little.Disagree. I've seen him lay some tackles before. He's played as a tagger before, with decent success. No, but he will tag him as they go out for their 1/4 and 3/4 time team address though.Originally posted by Dr DiabolicalExcellent - while other teams are aiming to kick cricket scores, we're hoping for soccer scores!
Ooooops, quoted wrong quote. Meant to quote the one with Roos sitting next to Williams! In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Hopefully our delivery to the fowards will imporve over the next couple of years, with the likes of Jack, Moore, Bird, Thornton, Vez etc to be ushered in, and hopefully Malceski will play more of a midfielder's role, because he was born for that position!Comment

Failed to chase off the half forward line and allowed Clarke to run at will. Cheese will give use extra mobility and height on the forward line and more versatility through the middle. I'll just slip out the back before the Davo fan club eruptsBevo bandwagon driverComment
