I gues the umpires cant be blamed for the groundsman marking the 50m arc with "150"... or have the AFL shifted from metric bak to feet and inches ?
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Believe the 150 must be something to do with the 150 year celebrations

You need to watch more footy...every ground has been marked the same way this year.

Exactly! The decision to call Micky back was rediculous. Fortunately he kicked the goal anyway, otherwise it would have been real annoying. Good thing a goal less wouldn't have affected the end result in any case.

I think the umpiring in general lacks consistency.
I have issues with some of the rules that are enforced, but really that's a separate issue.

The Swans won't generally get a 50/50 result from the decisions because of the way we play.
I'd love to blame the umpires, but simply, the Swans make stupid errors that result in free kicks.
I presume that the overall benefit in this style of play is valued more highly than the free kicks that it produces.

On a side note, one thing I see lacking (and have for some time) is effective shepherding.
