    Round 3 - Brisbane

Saturday night at the Gabba will be huge. Can we win? Our recent record against the Lions has been good - the last 10 games have seen 7 wins, 2 losses and a draw. At the Gabba, we won by 14 (2003), lost by 2 (2004), won by 6 (2005), won by 32 (2006), and drew in 2007. I don't think the current squad has any fear of playing at the Gabba. The question is whether our period of domination came to an end with last year's draw. I think we can win it, though probably not by much.

We have to double team Brown. It's the only way to shut him down.

If we play the fast running, wide open style of play we did yesterday, we could beat any team on our day. I hope for a win by 10 points.

You hope for a win by 10 points, or you think we'll win by 10? I hope we win by 200 pts, but I tipped between 10 and 19.

I am alot more optimistic about this game than I was 48 hours ago.

The result of Goodes' (perhaps) appeal may have some bearing on the result.

May as well be optimistic...Sydney by 13 points.

Another close loss will be devastating for my psych. Speaking of which I don't think we have won a close game by under a goal since the 2006 QF win over WC by a point....am I correct?

Hehe, understandable. I've supported the Swans for long enough to just be happy with any win, no matter if it's 1pt or 100pts, they've given me numerous heart-attacks and I'm only 23.

My tip is a 15 point win, and hopefully a better game from Bird.

Yes. Our closest win last year was 9 points over Hawthorn and we've lost 3 by less than a goal since the beginning of 2007.

Then again, in 2006 we went 1-4 for games less than a goal.

In 2005 we won 2 by 6 pts, lost 1 by 7 pts, and went 3-2 for games less than a goal.

It'll either be a shootout or an ugly contest, depending on which Swans outfit turns up at the 'Gabba.

                  Swans by 18.

So far there is a great deal of confidence about Saturday night. I wonder if that will change if Goodes is suspended and Jolly can't make it because of his ankle?

Well, Goodes isn't suspended and Jolly hasn't been ruled out yet. The ruck combination of Charman/Leuenberger isn't as strong as Lade/Brogan but I think the midfielders can do the damage in the clearances or stoppages if Jolly has to miss the game through injury.

It'll be close. It's at night isn't it?

                        Swans by 7.

I was screaming the house down for Brizzy last Friday but I really hope we do to the Lions what we did to Port. Swans by 25.

We'd still have to play pretty well to win by 14 points, trust me. Brisbane wont be a push over
