    Jolly V Bogan and Lady

Jolly is not one of my favourite players, but I thought he did very well against

2 ruckmen from Pork Chokealaide who should hang their heads in shame. I

reckon it was one of the worst ruck performances since the days of

    "pathetic Pittman" -

Was Jolly that good or the Ferals duo that bad or a bit of both?

Lade normally plays well against us, and did a few nice things, but didn't really get involved that much. Brogan didn't do much at all I felt. They both dominated tap outs, as you'd expect, but we matched Port for clearances.

According to the paper today, we had 27% hit outs to advantage as opposed to something like 11% for Port Adelaide. While we didn't smash them in the clearances it meant most time the ball was to our advantage which we used to good effect.

            I will translate for you

Bogan is Dean Brogan - remember his ordinary performance assaulting a fan
            a few years ago (crows)

Lady is Brendon Lade - a good player, but has little "mongrel" for a ruckman

Pork Chokealaide - Port was minor premiers for 3 years but crumbled in the semi's

Pathetic Pittman - In 1998 Malcom Blight described an effort by his Ruckman

            David Pittman as being "pathetic"

Ferals - if you have ever been to ALberton oval, Collingwood and Richmond
supporters are all class compared to Port Supporters

I Asked for people's opinion on if they agreed with me or not - was Jolly that good or the Port Duo that bad

Port dominated in the ruck, Sydney dominated in the midfield. Enough said.

Well Spida's just announced that he's probably a week behind where he'd hoped to be, and doesn't expect to be back even for the Wiggles game. Two weeks ago he said he'd be back for round 3, so you'd have to think he really doesn't know how much longer it's going to take him to reach adequate fitness.

I thought Jolly was good, he created atleast a 50 50 contest in the ruck and outplayed both Lady and Bogan around the ground.

He told me he'll be back this week - then I saw him limping up the stairs to the media boxes. You've gotta love his optimism!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
