    Benny Mathews

    Looks like Ben is only there to give the squad some depth this year. But that is not to say that he isn't making a contribution.

    Ben has copped more criticism than most, but he has always been a great clubman and the kids are now the beneficiaries.

      Nice find there Royboy. It's a great credit to Benny. He has been a very fine clubman and that selflessness spilled over to advice for Keiran.

      BTW, does Keiran have a Nic Name?

              The other players call him 'Kizza' and according to my daughter, who regularly stalks all the young guys MySpace and Facebook pages , he also lists that as his preferred nickname.

              That said, I really like ORB's nic when he reports the magoo's....'Cracker', even though I tend to default to Kizza when I'm screaming at the ground or at the TV.

                  I said elsewhere that at the ground, every time I yell "Go Jack" I want to call him "Kojak". That's the name for me.

                              If it wasn't already taken, "Cheese" would be possible, after Jack cheese.

                              Kizza, Garry, Jockstrap, Plug (probably too similar to Plugger though), Socket, Ripper, Jack In The Box, Whiskey (from Jack Daniel's), Pumpkin, and Jack Russel. That's all I can think of right now.

                                  Speaking of nicknames; It seems the NRL isn't the only code with a 'Backdoor Benny'........our esteemed No.4 fits the bill, as he slides off to ACT oblivion.
