Disagree...back in 04 05 he was regularly noted as a "dead-eye dicK" and delivered...these days commentators (until tonight!!!) still seem top remember his glory days when discussing his chances. He is a great kick....it's just that for some reason he is off target (by which I mean that he is kicking STRAIGHT but not on line...like a golfer with a push rather than a slice)

West Coast Eagles Suck!!!
Sydney 16.11 107
West Coast 5.15 45
A very easy win for the Swans against a different Eagles outfit. We completely dominated them in possessions, in the midfield, in the backline and up forward. Barry, LRT, Kennelly, B2 and Mattner were sensational down back. Barlow had a solid performance and Jack had a ripper against Kerr. MOL was great in front of goal and either Davis or Grundy are starters for next week's clash against Geelong.
The only negative is of course Bazza's brain snap with that cheap shot on Staker and his possible broken wrist which will rule him out regardless. Nonetheless, we were too good for the pathetic opposition and a Hall-less Swans outfit can be very damaging as was displayed in Round 22 against the Hawks.
Next week against the Cats at Skilled, it should be a great game but the Cats will probably be too strong for us to take on.I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Originally posted by Dr DiabolicalVery good win. Still some things to work on, like disposal and attacking rather than going sideways, but the intensity and team play is great. Losing Hall may not be such a problem - ROK, Davis, MOL and perhaps Barlow/White could work in the forward line.Comment

St Kilda were doing OK today until the maggots decided to step in and hand the game to the cats - it was a final quarter blowout (with some very ordinary kicking by the ainters forwards).Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Rubbish. Geelong was the superior team for most of the day. StKilda dominated the first quarter but was only a goal in front at qtr time. Geelong was in total control after that.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I found that game a pretty unsatisfying experience.
The Hall incident certainly soured things early, when the Swans were looking promising.
But even putting that aside, the second half was a pretty ordinary display. It was all over as a contest and the lack of adrenalin seemed to bring with it a downward spiral in skill and also in creativeness. I realise that the Eagles were getting large numbers behind the ball, but surely it would have been better to drive the ball out the back half of midfield with a bit more purpose, rather than farting around for 20 possessions and then turning it over anyway.
The best thing about the final quarter was how many different ways the Eagles could find to miss a goal. I know it's not the done thing to snigger when the opposition scores a behind but it became hard not to in the end, so inept were they.
Oh, and Cheese's two kicks on goal also brightened up that term. Sensational kicks. Not only is he quicker and fitter than Goodes (according to Goodes) but he's most certainly a better set shot on goal. Now he just needs to learn to win the ball a bit more.
The prospect of having Goodes, Barlow and Murphy all running around the paddock together in a year or so is something worth salivating over.Comment

I'm not sure they'll be good enough to beat Geelong, especially after Hall's renaissance has been nipped in the bud, but I'd expect them to show more intensity and purpose against a decent opposition.
For all the disappointment that this evening fizzled out and the failure of the Swans to do some real damage, it has to be said that West Coast were even more woeful than I expected. For the Swans to win by over 60 points in a lethargic canter says something about where the Eagles are at. I've not seen a whole lot of them this season - just saw bits of last week's derby. But their forward line doesn't have a clue. For not a single tall marking player to kick a goal, and to leave all the meagre scoring they did manage to a shorty playing only his fourth or fifth game, says a lot about their woes. Hansen and Lynch had close to no impact on the game at all.Comment
