    Worsfold on O'Loughlin v Spangher

I have faith in players: Worsfold

Official Website of the Australian Football League > News Article > I have faith in players: Worsfold

?These young players are going to be playing for a long period of time with our club and they?re going to help us win premierships.

?One example is [first-gamer] Matt Spangher playing on one of the unbelievable champions of the game in [Michael] O?Loughlin.

?You would expect O?Loughlin to have a little bit more footy smarts over Spangher and a little bit more strength, but I know who?s more likely to play in an AFL premiership right at this point.?
So is Worsfold saying that the Swans will win the Premiership this year....?

(Ahh... West Coast... such gracious losers... or is that just LOSERS!!!!)

Micky-O had a great game and his one-on-one marking ability was just too good

No, he is saying that the Swans won't win another one in MOL's time, but could in Spanghers time as he has another 10 years.

Typical back handed compliment from Worsfold.

I thought Spangher did pretty well.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yes, Worsfold was complimenting Spangher not MOL.

Exactly how I read it when I saw the article last night.

Of course it's a back handed compliment!
(or rather a back handed dig in the form of a compliment...)

(Where's the sarcasm emoticon when you need it).

Just Worsfold's sour grapes on losing to the swans. But very nice to see that the loss stung so much!

The only way Spangher the clanger (as he's known in Perth) will play in an AFL premiership is if he gets traded. West Coast are GAWWWN!!! The Swans are not without a chance, so just who is Worsfold kidding? Not me, or Chris Judd.

It's ironic how things have worked out so far. At the end of last year it was all doom and gloom for Sydney, the media was fueling the "Too old, too slow" fire and we were supposed to really struggle.

West Coast were still seen as a force and a few people predicted they'd make the top 4, and Cousins and Judd would easily be replaced by Priddis, Matsen, Hurn etc.

4 rounds in and we have the highest percentage, our midfield looks fresh with Jack, Moore & Bird stepping up and McVeigh has discovered that he does actually have talent. Barlow has added some more 'x-factor' to our side and most of the oldies are playing their best footy.

                    2008 might actually be fun

                      Worsfiold arrogant despite thrashing

I saw the Swans thrash a team of has-beens last night, however Worsfold sees it differently:

Worsfold boldly predicted the Eagles were in better shape than the Swans (3-1).

"Those young players are going to be playing for a long period of time at our club and they are going to help us win premierships," he said.

"You would expect that Michael O'Loughlin (who kicked four goals in his 274th game) would have a little bit of footy smarts over (debutant Matt) Spangher at the moment and a little bit more strength. But I know who is more likely to play in an AFL premiership right at this point."
                      HAH!

                        Still in denial I see.

Enjoy your team's pathetic performance, Woosha.

                          I think we've found 2008's Zac Dawson.

Totally agree. The worse thing about Baz's brainsnap is it came as everything was going right for the team.

Two weeks ago SportsOdds had us at $18 to win a flag. Now we're third behind Cats and Hawks at $11. It'll be a good year.
