Chaos at Stad Oz

We sat in our normal Stad Oz members reserve seats, high up behind the CS. Towards the end of the ressies people started to appear saying that some of us were sitting in their reserved seats. Naturally we all refused to move. At one stage I had security threatening eviction if I did not move.

Eventually the penny dropped. Stad Oz have "shrunk" the Swans members reserve by half a bay. Nobody was told, nor was there any change to the signage.

When we pointed out to Stad Oz security that they would have to try and move several hundred Swans members to free up the seats they finally gave up.

Poor effort all round.

The stadium was basically GA, there was that many empty seats, my friends and I decided to move

I felt sorry for the poor security girl she looked all of 12 and probably weighed about 50kgs (if that) and looked ready to cry as it was obvious that no-one was going to move.
I didn't mind the people who arrived before the start of the game asking if they could have their seats it was the ones who turned up 20 minutes into the 1st quarter and wanted people to uproot and move. There were plenty of available seats for those folks.

Normally game day runs fairly smoothly there, but it was a dog's breakfast on Saturday night.
It took 15 minutes to get through the bag search on Saturday night. Normally they have 2 tables with bag checkers at Gate B, but this time there was 1 empty table and 1 table with a lineup of about 30 people. Maybe a staff no-show, but it took ages to get in.
Fortunately I was there in plenty of time, but I'd have been pissed off if I'd missed the start of the game because of that.

Whatever it is it aint Tooheys just as the Carlton/VB at SCG aint Carlton/VB. They pump some watered down, bromided, carbonated parody of beer to keep us bloated and disoriented so they can move us out quickly.

If people have reserved seats they should be able to turn up any time of the night and be guaranteed to sit in their reserved seats!

At quarter time in the main game we were accused of sitting in someone's permanent seats, and they were pretty angry, we then had to go in search of the idiot who had shown us to the seats, missing most of the second quarter trying to find out what bay we were meant to be in.

If people have reserved seats they should be able to turn up any time of the night and be guaranteed to sit in their reserved seats!

If you have paid for reserved seats, you have the right to turn up at any time and expect to be able to sit there.

I would normally agree with you there but this isn't a case of people sitting where they want. The people who were sitting in the previously unreserved seats have been sitting there for 7 years. There were no notices to indicate that those seats were no longer members' reserve and in fact the sign was still in place at the entrance to the aisle.
If I had been the person with the reserved seats and found someone sitting in my seat I would have waited until a break in play, such as 1/4 time to take the issue up.
Some of the people being asked to move had been there since about 3pm.
In fact none of our group including ORB were actually sitting in anyone's seats (despite his earlier post). There were about 3 seats taken (of the reserved seats) and they were sitting behind ORB and in front of us. To move these people would have involved moving a group of about 11 to seat a group of 5. ORB was pointing out to the security that a great number (perhaps the majority) of people in that section would not have reserved seating and they would all have to be moved if they were sitting in the wrong spot.
The point ORB and others were making is that they (whoever they are) moved the goalposts in terms of where we (the members' reserve) are allowed to sit without telling us.
FWIW I don't have a problem with what time anyone turns up they can turn up at full time if they wish I just wouldn't disrupt someone's viewing of the game to discuss the seating arrangement, I would wait for a break in play but hey that's just me. I also sympathised with the people with the reserved tickets and the security staff, it was not a good situation or advert. I suspect that this experience has put them off attending another game.
