    Herald-Sun poll

Five of the worst | Herald Sun

This is quite ridiculous. They're asking, was Hall's punch the worst on the Football field.

And yet, at this stage, Hall hasn't received a vote. Leigh Matthews is miles in front.

Hmm.....odd! No matter what. They'll try to make it worse than it looks.

12 years for the next closest incident????ARE THEY SERIOUS????
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

You seriously can't put in Collingwood's Brodie Holland surely? Malthouse would have a cry about it.

This is the problem. People are looking it in the context of 'a single straight forward punch'.

There are far more dangerous incidents, such as B. Holland.

That is far worse than Barry Hall's hit by far.

For the media not even mentioning Brodie Holland is a disgrace.

Brett Montgomery could have been paralyzed for @@@@s sake!

Holland received 6 weeks. Montgomery got up and kicked a goal a short while later.

It still could have paralyzed him.

A Footscray player, who I can't think of his name, was paralyzed in the same way.

The generally agreed worst of all (in living memory) isn't even on the list - O'Dea on Greening, 1972.
This is to leave out the pre-war game when blokes had nicknames like 'Basher'.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

                          That was dangerous and unnecassary.

Milburn was brave being a smartarse towards the Carlton fans that day. He's probably lucky to get out of there alive I say.

That was a shocker, but on par with Hall's I reckon.

Lockett had a few worse I reckon - the one on Guy McKenna, and a Fitzroy player whose name escapes me. He stopped an Essendon player (Fox?) breathing too. That's far worse than anything Hall has ever done.
