Totally deserved. A seriously exciting and talented young player.

We have Malthouse to partly thank for this. His whinge last week that the judges took more notice of possessions than of opponents beaten maybe has swayed the panel a bit.

There are a few good youngsters around who've had 3 or 4 very solid weeks and would be deserving of a nomination. Jack is certainly one of them.

Hopefully Barlow can make it a double sometime during this season.

Excellent stuff - his good work so far thus year, culminating in a great stopping performance on Kerr makes it well deserved.

Probably right, Liz. I hope Jack sent him a thank you note.

There's a short clip of some highlights from his game on Saturday. Best bit by far is the look on Kerr's face after Jack kicks a goal.

Well deserved too. I think he has been the pick of the young guys, to be asked to do a job on Daniel Kerr and do that well was fantastic and certainly deserving of the nomination. he did have a lot of help on Kerr at times, his teammates were clearly mindful of it being a young guy doing the job, which I thought was excellent too.

Well done Kieran. Next step- learn to not send the ball 20 metres high everytime you kick it
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

After a four year long wait, the Club finally gets a Rising Star Nomination! It's always a strong sign to get a nomination so early in the season. We now await future nominations to be awarded to Ed Barlow and Craig Bird

I was going to ask how long has it been since the Swans had a Rising Star nomination, well done young Keiran. It took long enough (Rd 4!), but it's finally there!!
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

                              Congrats Cracker - great work!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
