We really miss Kennelly and Malceski

We probably would have won today if Kennelly and Malceski had played. We rely so much on their run from the backline and ability to clear the defensive 50m arc. Hopefully Malceski will recover in time for the Round 20 re-match against the Cats at ANZ Stadium and Kennelly can stay in one piece until then. Oh, yeah, we might have Hall back as well.

We have been kinda lucky to have at least one of those two playing in recent times. Without either we just lack that extra bit of class coming out of defense. I thought Mattner and Leo tried hard to make up for that today, although it took a quarter for Leo to get going. We also need Spida back, just having that luxury of two specialised ruckmen would have really made a difference today. LRT is not up to it.

        No, we wouldn't have.

I thought Leo carried the flag quite well in the rebounding stakes.
Well, until he ran stupidly into an opponent.

          But we do miss Malceski.
And we really, really, really miss Kennelly.

Why not? We were competitive for virtually all of the match except the last 5-10 minutes. Kennelly and Malceski would have made a big difference to our structure.

We were smashed in the middle and had no quality ball into the forward line. Malceski and Tadgh may have given us some run out of defence to help alleviate that, but not enough. I thought Geelong were about a 7 goal better side, and that is what the margin was. Most teams can stay with Geelong for a half or so, as they tend to put it into second during qtrs 2 and 3. We were smashed.

I was pumped all week. Thought we'd really take it up to the Cats. When I heard Tagdh was out my heart sank. I knew we'd not be able to get our running game out of defence going effectively enough all the time, which did prove to be the case especially in the 1st quarter where we were dispossessed and Geelong would skip down the field & score with hardly a finger touching them.

We will definitely be a better team with both Tagdh & Eski back on the field though. Am excited about the thought of those two hitting our forwards with pinpoint passes started from their runs off half back.

Yes we do need to get one back against the cats in round 20, we really have to show them who the boss is, Hopefully kenelly and malceski will be in good form, and Hall firing all guns...

I really want the swans to beat collingwood this year too, we couldnt beat them last year.

Yeah, I hated that. Losing to them 3 times in the one year was galling. I'm sure we'll put in a better performance against them this year.

Anyone know the estimates on Malceski's return?

Anyone else get worried if Leo Barry runs more than two yards with the ball?

Round 8(???) But I would doubt that very much.

Yep. I think even Leo himself would answer, yes.

No. We were smashed in the last 10 minutes. Up until the point Moore kicked soon after his goal, it was neck and neck. After that, they kicked into 3rd gear and spanked us.

The score wasn't reflective of the way we played, though I understand that in order to maintain your legacy, bypassing the facts is par for the course.

Yeah. As soon as he takes a bounce, my instant reaction is 'Oh, @@@@'.

Hall, Malceski & Kennelly in the side and we probably would of gone close to beating them.
