Got to agree with him, put Kennelly, Malceski, Everitt and Hall back into that side and we will be able to push Geelong to the limit on yesterdays showing.
Looking forward to the return bout later in the season bit for now it's North next week where we need to bounce back.

We didnt have those guys yesterday !! Simple.
We just got beaten by a awesome team when it mattered in the last 5 minutes. We proved yesterday on our day we are still a formidable force.
We just got smashed in the last 5 minutes against the Premier Midfield of the Competition. Give our boys some credit on how they were able to aquit themsleves for the majority of the game.
Could we have won with those guys yesterday ?? Maybe.
Though was pretty impressed with what we got yesterday.

I agree with Roos about the Cats' quality. They barely missed a target all day. Amazing foot skills, great speed.
Thought our disposal was OK to pretty good - mostly. We linked up out of defence well, but far too many balls went astray or were poor options.
Otherwise it was same old story: a generous head-start, a brave fightback, and then we go down.
We missed Kennelly a lot more than Hall. We really need him and Goodes playing and contributing to beat the top sides.
I'm wondering if Spida's presence might have helped carry us home. We got smashed in the clearances in the last ten.The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Say's it all really.Paul Roos: "We took them to (three) points in the middle of the last quarter, and we looked like a team that came to compete and competed for most of the game. In the end, we got beaten by a better team."

There's an element of shock and awe when the Cats get going as they did in the final quarter, they are just sooooo precise with the ball that it's as if the other team are reduced to spectators, looking on in stunned admiration just like the rest of us! In summary: they can bleed, but it's tough to kill them off.Comment

That seems to be pretty standard for Leo, when he goes for a stroll. But on his side he at least kicked things off in the 2nd qtr with his initial dash which seeemed to kick start our comeback.
It was like they were just spinning their wheels for 2 qtrs, and finally in the last the wheels gripped and man, did they jump the gun!!Comment

Kids get tired. Hopefully they'll have more match fitness later in the season. I was wishing we had the mature body of a Maxfield or Williams or Kennelly out there in the last. Cats didn't lift, our shoulders dropped after the Moore miss and let them in - and they are good enough to make us pay.Comment

Everitt = Ottens - Pretty much both gain
Hall = Egan - At the same end of the ground, we lost our best forward, you lost one of your best backs.
Kennelly and Malceski - These guys are what some commentators like to call our quarterbacks. They are our attacking midfield. With one, we are OKAY ... we two .. we are FAR more dangerous.
We had players out that were more important to us than you. Injuries are NO excuse, but the contest would have been totally different at full strength.Comment

Good point. The Cats can only top up an already strong backline. We will strengthen and skill up at both ends of the ground. As for Ottens he is well matched by Jolly who won't have to be everywhere all the time with Spida. We'll do them next time away from the barnyard.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

I do " UNDERSTAND " our team, but i'm a realist.....i'll give you a tip if Ottens was at our club he would be the number one ruckmen ahead of both Spider and Jolly by a long way.
And Geelong would have definitely been a better side with Ottens in as Jolly smashed Blake and West but wouldn't have had the same influence if Ottens had of been on the park

I completely agree with themase, I think you're barking up the wrong tree!
Egan and Ottens WOULD make Geelong slightly stronger, but Kennelly, Hall, Everitt and Malceski makes the swans a great deal stonger than the side we put on the park against the cats.
Kennelly and Hall are our 2 most important players structurally.
LRT just isn't a ruckman, and is currently being forced to ruck.
What I'm trying to say, is that while both teams had injuries, Geelong have better depth to cover what injuries they have.Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
