    Richmond v. 'Dogs - Spoiler

How to throw away an almost certain win.

Are Richmond the most hopeless excuse for a professional football team you have ever known? How did they stuff up a 19 point lead so late in the game? That idiot Tigers player (40, 41?) stepped back for an unrushed behind and it ending up costing them the game a few minutes later. What a tool.

    46. Jake King.

Great mark by Lake and then great kick by Minson too.

How did Minson end up taking the kick?

Lake couldn't take it, and all I can guess is the umpire decided when Lake went down that Minson was closest.

Was a great game of footy, hard but open. Hard to not enjoy watching Doggies games.

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I have to admit, I was willing the Tigers over the line in that one, they played brilliantly in the second half. Richo was sensational at both ends of the ground and deserved to come away with a win. Full credit to the Bulldogs though, a team that can score as quickly as they can is never out of the game and they proved that again today.

That was just downright bloody dodgy.

Not withstanding they threw it away, the Tiggers are quite within their rights to be filthy on the ending. The Bulldogs cheated, pure and simple. I don't think for one minute Lake/Harris was not fit to take the kick.

BTW. I'd be even filthier if I came here without knowing the score ready to watch the replay. Should be more thought into thread titles AND spoiler warnings, IMO.

                That's why we have moderators.

But really, if you were seriously concerned about a spoiler you wouldnt come here. Surely your not that dumb?

You're right, I wouldn't come here if I didn't want to know the score because I know some people cannot help themselves and NEED to start a thread with a spoiler.

It would be nice to know if I did want to come here in those circumstances I would be safe from knowing other scores thru thread titles.

I don't believe we have moderators to fix up selfish thread titles.

Exciting game of football. And who says seeing high scoring games is not exciting.

No doubt Lake pulled a swifty, but why not if you can get away with it. Every team would try that. And it's not like Gilbee got the ball - Minson did!

Made perfect sense for the King to step back and give up a behind. Richmond should never have gone into their shell to protect the league so early - they're not good enough to control the ball that long.

Well our values are obviously different if you think it is OK to cheat if you get away with it.

That is just downright cheating and totally outside the spirit of the game.

I'd be very disappointed if the Swans did it, not to say I don't expect them to ever do it, but I'd be disappointed just the same.

Clearly it DID'NT make sense given that it cost them the game.

There were dozens of incidents even after that one that could have made the difference. I agree with NMW, at the time it was a reasonable option.

As I said, the Tiggers were very stiff. Even though the footage is inconclusive one way or the other, it is hard to fathom why Foley would just drop the ball when he was tackled, leading to Cross' (?) goal after the 'rushed' behind. Foley claimed he handballed and considering he had both arms clear, you'd have to believe him. The footage was inconclusive and the umpire has definately 'guessed'.

Not to mention the 'cheating' incident at the end.
