You reckon Ben Mathews and Crouch feel favoured right now?
Maybe Nick D is Roos' favourite. That's why he gets to avoid the hurly-burly of senior football while on full pay? Only now are BM and JC so favoured, too.
And I bet Baz is sitting at the back of the meditation circle right now.
Ben has been blessed to get a game at times for the past couple of years, and I don't think Crouch is even fit enough to play in the reserves at the moment? If Baz is out of favour, well Baz knows why.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I thought about including those 2 as well, but they have been favourite sons for many years, so it was only fair to include them in that column.
LOL @ Baz.
He may have to face the other direction as well.
Roos doesn't like Davis. Period. It could also be a bit historical. I wonder how much say did Roos have when transferring Nick from Collingwood. The Magpies problem child has the same personality problems with the Swans. Surely Malthouse would have warned Roos about it, unless Roos thought he could change Nick.
His opinion is very much that Davis is treated on a completely different scale to other players in the club, and he said it is simply because he isn't really one of the boys.
Interesting feedback.
I always draw the comparison between O'Loughlin's stats and performances as compared to Davo's. Stats-wise, they are virtually identicle which is actually a credit to Nick because he doesn't have the luxury of playing as a key forward. As an observer, it is quite clear that Nick competes for as many balls as MOL and chases just as many, if not more, opponents than O'Loughlin.
The only different I can think of is that Roos never played with Davis, but did play with his mate Mick.

Malthouse was publicly scathing. He said "We only want good people at this club" when Davis was traded. Davis has alienated two of the most demanding and successful coaches in modern football. But hey its not Nick. Everyone's picking on him.

... a "bad boy" we couldn't turn around?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

your starting to give the impression you dont like nick davis, im just reading between the lines though
I had the misfortune of living next door to Malthouse in the mid 80's, he was a total @@@@@ then, seems he hasnt changed any since.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Grooaan... did you get that from "101 Dad's Jokes"?
It was a poor gag...but apt for a poorly conceived question about favouritism.
There are people who can stick to the game plan, the structures and there are those that have other ideas.
Those who are physically or mentally incapable of the above, I am sure that they fall foul of the coaching staff (not just Roos), no matter who they are.
It's easy to forget that if people like Nick D and others were getting it right, then his peers and other coaches would have worked on making sure Nick was back in the squad.
Nick D's form is not just the observations of the Senior Coach. Paul Roos has the patience of a Monk (never rushes back injured players is an example), this perceived "attitude" toward Davis is not sudden.

I don't like people claiming he has got a raw deal. He has had more opportunities than most and he basically hasn't responded.
A standard claim, yet on nearly every measure Davis' perfomance at the Swans has been at the very least adequate.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

And Paul Bevan has? hmm strange!

My responses re. Bevo are under some restrictions. However, young Bevo seems to be coming along nicely and is repaying the patience and faith shown in him. He won't let us down when the heats on. Unlike . . . well you know.
