    LOL.

I don't "dislike" him per se. Indeed I have a lot of admiration for the huge improvement, especially in his physical condition, that he's achieved since he arrived at the club. His work ethic during games also can't be questioned, and he knows how to find the footy, especially late in games when his superior fitness becomes a telling factor.

I just don't think his disposal quality is anything close to AFL level and I haven't noticed any marked improvement this season.

At the pre-season dinner the coaches said they expected him to play some senior football this season, so maybe we'll see him later in the year.

liz - thks for that - could the disposal thing you talk about be attributed to the extra attention he might be getting as a result of past season performances?

Sadly I'm not sure it can. A significant number of his possession are uncontested, partly because he's not really a bottom of the pack kind of player and partly because he runs very hard to get into space to receive. So a large number of his disposals are not really under pressure. I just think he misses easy targets - by hand and by foot - far too often.

He's not unlike Fosdike in that respect (though I think his disposal is even worse) and I think that's what's stopped Fosdike taking the step up to becoming a really damaging senior player, rather than just a pretty handy one.

Two posts.... And straight to the Heart of it????

C'mon Venus... Or should I say Ryan???

Liz might carry a bit of weight about here but she doesn't do the selections each week... Well not normally. Suggest you take it up with Roosey directly. i know he's looking to replace a fwd this week.

I am sure Paul Roos is giving him plenty of time. He looks much stronger and is not easily knocked off the ball. The fact he is a ball magnet hasn't helped his cause as needs to fit into the Sydney style of play, manning up tackling etc.
Liz, as for his poor disposals I disagree. He has between 20-30 every game and I don't know what the exact stats are but I would say he has more effective than not.
He also has a good footy head and does a lot of good things off the ball as well.
When Roo's decides it time, I'm sure everyone is in for a pleasant surprise
                cheers

I have seen him play a couple of times and he has definately grown and improved his disposal, which I felt was his downfall last year.

                    He's still a red head...

                    As we all know...

                    Red head = Nuff Nuff
