    Feral Cat at Club Swans

I happened to visit Club Swans last night at about the time the Fremantle vs Geelong game was on. There were a few Cats supporters there, and one of them in particular behaved, quite simply, like a feral animal. I've never seen anything like it. Not even from Eagles supporters at Subiaco.

This guy was in his early 20s, but behaved like he was suffering from acute high blood pressure. At the start of the game he viciously abused the Fremantle players every time they made a mistake and he even called one of the other patrons "@@@@face" for challenging his aggressiveness. He was silent when Fremantle got on top, but by the time the Cats were back in the game, he was positively apoplectic, leaping out of his chair and screaming at the TV when umpiring decisions went against them. It got to the stage where the girlfriend of one of the other Cats supporters got out of her chair and went over to him, telling him to calm down and asking what on earth was wrong with him.

I was so hoping the Dockers would win to put him in his place, but the weird thing was the Geelong victory didn't seem to satisfy him. He seemed to be a bad winner. I ended up feeling sorry for him - he can't have much of a life to carry on like that.

He either had passion or a high-salt diet.
