We play better when we attack, especially without Hall. We looked good for the last 10 minutes when it was get it forward at any cost. We need to show the same endeavour in attack as we do in defence. (It needs to be said too, that if I did not follow the Swans I would never watch us - we are awful).
Furthermore, I would love to see Kennelly chucked into the middle occasionally. He can run, he can kick and he can make the right decisions. Gte him a kick closer to goal occasionally.
ROK this is just so spot on its not funny.
Boys here have been giving it to me on how we play and I get my back up though I know they are pretty much right.
The thing is we play that tempo footy better than anyone else, though when we release the shackles we are as good as anyone going around.
We seem to play that crap footy at the Dome all the time !!!
Our last decent game we had there was when we flogged Richmond in 06.
Your right as well, if I didnt follow the Swans I wouldnt go watch them when they give us that type of football. I go because we only play in Melbourne 5 or 6 times a year and I love footy, though walking out of there yesterday I really didnt know how to feel.
Ive been saying for a while as well Tadhg has to play more as an attacking midfielder now.
His decision making and disposal and furthermore reading of whats in front of him is what we need when going forward. He took the game up another level yesterday as he had the will to win when it mattered.
His kicking skills very rarely miss a target when he gets it, and just like Goodsey takes the game on which is something our midfield lacks.
Also funny thing was our endevour was great in the forward line in that last 15 or so minutes. Barlow who I thought was quite gave us something, Kirk & Jack were hard at it ,Magic who was ordinary got into the game as he keep in the contest, Moorey kept at it & Rhino was in the mix all believing we could still win.Yet for 3 and a half quarters we just played that boring footy that we seem to kept playing when we play at the Dome.
Loved what Roosy has done, though we must play more direct footy than what we saw yesterday.I cant stand watching that type of footy and its right we are involved in all those lock down games and we are the culprits.
Bloody frustrating when we all know we have another game in our toolbox that just doesnt get implemented enough in my booksEst 1874

Roosey ... two things.
1. Get back down to Freddy Fittler and the boys at the Eastern Suburbs Thugby League club and do a refresher course on tackling. It worked for us before. Once the midfield have done the intensive course, send the rest in to do the express course.
2. Send Horse back to coaching the forwards. They really, really need him. Once he has finished bashing them around the head, send in the rest to do an express course.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

We tend to play our best football at home, with the close down style for away games, if it get's us 14 wins and top 4 spot I have no issue with us using an ugly style of play when needed.

I guess I don't follow the Swans closely enough because I can't remember the last scintillating game between the Swans and the Roos (or the Saints). There seem to be some teams that play crap footy together - and the Swans and Roos certainly fit in that category.
The weird thing is that Saints games stay woeful even after a change of coach - maybe because they now have min-Roos.Comment

I totally agree. Same thing happened last season too. When the Swans back themselves going directly forward, we usually play so much better than when taking the most cautious route forward.Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment
