Sydney's Luke Ablett has accepted a $1950 sanction for making negligent contact with umpire Michael Avon during the third quarter of the match between Sydney and North Melbourne at Docklands on Sunday.

Saw them both on the ground., but didn't see the contact. We were with friends who hadn't been to the footy before, their comment was "Shouldn't it be the umpires responsibility to get out of the way of the players?" It's pretty hard to argue with that.
