    Malceski or Thomas......

Pretty simple really, if you could only have one, who would you want ?

Eski (if he gets back from his knee) or Thomas.

Take the injury equation out of it, vote as if Eski will get back from his knee, don't vote scared that he mightn't get back.

    Reasons for poll????

On the messageboard I spoke about on another thread, I lauded Eski to the Collingwood fans. One week later Thomas killed him at Homebush and they've slung sheet on me ever since. I guarantee if I posted this poll on that board, it would come back 5 to 1 in favour of Thomas.

Interesting comparison. I've been a huge fan of Malceski for a number of years and picked him. I think he's more consistent than Thomas and still likely to really impact games. I think Thomas is more mercurial and has more potential to break open games, but also more likely to go missing.

It's almost impossible to be objective since one plays for us and the other plays for, well, them. I don't think the two are readily comparable given the roles they play and that match-up didn't really play to Malceski's assets.

If you're looking for an independent measure of their value last season, one was deemed good enough to make the AA squad of 40. The other I don't think was even considered vaguely unlucky not to.

We need Eski in our structure. It would be good to have a livewire like Thomas up forward, but we get greater from the Eski.

The leadership group would beat that out of him pretty quickly, and in the media for good measure.

I really don't understand the rationale in comparing these two players.

It's like doing a poll asking if you'd prefer Goodes or Jonathan Brown. They play totally different roles and positions and ideally you'd like both players in your 22.
