Give Davo a run in the middle, it can't hurt.
I honestly don't think Davo will be back in the firsts unless he remembers how to freaking tackle. It's not his kicking ability that caused him to be dropped.

If NOG's fine in two weeks then he'll come in for Benny.

      We out-tackled them 76-49.

I think we need to focus more on good disposal and kicking goals.

Three of our midfielders had 26 tackles yet had little impact on the offensive side.

This is an interesting quote from Roos.

Roos noted that some of the Swans' best ball users, such as Nick Malceski and Tim Schmidt, aren't currently playing.

"Some of the guys who don't use the ball well are getting a game at the moment, which is frustrating," he said.
I don't think anyone doubts that Malceski will return as soon as he's ready, but that also suggests that all Schmidt needs to do is get himself fit enough and he's in. Given that I doubt Roos is referring to Kirk with that comment - despite a pretty average game today - sounds like the writing might be on the wall for Bolton and/or Buchanan. Except that one of those two disposes of the ball well some of the time...

Id be more then disappointed to be honest if Buchanan was to be dropped. He wasnt good today but he did ok I thought in comparison to others and so far has been more then useful this season. I really would like to see him possibly tried for a while playing solely out of the forward pocket- he takes a good mark and is a reasonable kick at goal most of the time. Im not sure he is quite good enough when playing on the ball however.

At least Buchanan frequently creates, so he can make things happen. Having said that he is well down on form this year I think.

I reckon he's moderately improved on last year but is a long way short of his 2005-6 form. Getting the old Monty back would be a big plus. He used to be one of the best at finding a target inside 50m from a short kick.

actually the interpretation changes between 2005 and 2006 stuffed buchanan and much of the swans forward line - when they decided to ensure that kicks went 15 rather than 10+ which they seem to interpret harder against the swans than any other team.

i always thought schneider and buchanan were interchangeable but the rule "changes" disproportionately affected monty and schneider would have been better to keep.

I'm not sure that this is true having watched the team more as buchanan wins more contested footy than schneider did but it does make buchanan's foward delivery less effective

OUT: Mathews, Jude, Mattner, Spida, LRT, Monty, Cheese, Playfair, Kirk.
IN: Davis, Crouchie, Fossie, Schneider (oh, damn, I forgot), Nick Smith, damn, I'd even give Luke Brennan another go...none could do worse than many of the so-called senior players did today...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Agree that Monty is another who's 2008 formhas been very patchy. Will be watched clsoely I suspect.Mathews & B1 for the scrap heap.

Roos said that Monty played as a small forward and he said he was pretty happy with the way the forward line functioned. So Monty's OK. I thiunk LRT played on Minson for most of the day and Minson had minimal impact as well.

I'm getting concerned that Monty may turn out to be one of these players who have it then lose it ala Shane Woewodin.
