TV ratings for swans game in prime time.

Swans have coped a lot of crap from the league media about the ratings for Saturday night games shown in prime time in Sydney. Usually the games rate between 100,000 to 120,000 viewers. Beaten by "The Bill" and at least one other commercial network.

Well last saturday the NRL had a game on channel 9 on sat night, and it could only manage 130,000 viewers in Sydney to be 27th most watched show overall.

    27 NINE'S SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Nine 324,000 130,000 14,000 169,000 6,000 5,000

This leads me to the conclusion the gap between AFL and NRL is not as big as made out in our fair city.

Regardless what people might say about importance of win, we must admit that watching the Swans play is not very entertaining and TV audience definitely speak for themselves. Once the Swans start playing an entertaining football again the TV audience will return.
