As long as he's within 30m!

        Tony Lockett!

Well he's just as relevant to a future grand final as Ball Up Benny is!

No crap. Even though I've gone the Cheese with the question asked, if it was 40 metres or less out, and less than a 45 degree angle, I really would pick Mathews.

I can't remember ever seeing him miss one of those 'a professional footballer should really kick this' shots. Whereas I've seen MOL, BBBH, ROK, McVeigh, Davis et al miss plenty. I might have seen Benny nail about 10 of 'em. Being generous. Even though 44.23 as career stats is decent but not outstanding kicking, I reckon a pretty high proportion of those 23 points would've been from field play.

McVeigh in terms of kicking action is potentially as good as Cheese. Just needs to get his head right. Davis kicks the ball too high and so unnecessarily reduces his margin of error, esp if there's a zephyr of breeze up in the gods. BBBH could be the best, but isn't. Just one of those mysteries that only the boxer's psychologist could answer.

Kirk will generally put the ball in the right spot when doing 30 metre field kicks, but he strains for distance too much (because he naturally has none) on the set shot and is liable to skew 'em as a result.

If I was Jude Bolton I would be severely pissed off at not being on that list. But then again I'm not Jude Bolton because I can kick further and more accurately than him.

Is that only because it meant he would be playing?

At the risk of being seen as a bit predictable I had to go with the kid. He has a faultless 100% record. Nerveless and fearless - a goal kicking machine.

Kirk. Seriously, that's exactly the sort of situation he would step up, and float a helicopter straight through the sticks. Buddha might give it nudge on the way as well....

Um. Helicopters don't float straight through.

Jude is actually pretty decent from a set shot (except when he is playing the Roos )

I'm going the Jude Bolton option...

I think J Bolton's only made 1 set shot since prior to the '06 GF?
