Akereley had a beard FFS. On those grounds alone he should be eliminated from consideration. A thinking man's Rhys Shaw. Bevo is tougher, a better tackler, better kick and a better mark. Chapman suffered more knock outs than Floyd Patterson. His lack of durability marks him down against our best ever No. 42.

lol Comparing Paul Bevan to Rhyce Shaw, one of the softest players in the AFL today, nice one Connolly.

If I had the technical knowhow I'd get a poll going on this one. Just who is/was the best No. 42 in the history of the club? Bevo will bolt in.

The loyalty factor is big. Particularly given the tide of unprincipled, unreasonable, unthinking and unconscionable criticism that has been directed at the kid.

Only because he's the only one to play more than 50 games in the 42 jumper.

And is a potential 200 gamer. Has anyone played 200 games for the club in the No. 42? The pluses just keep adding up.

Has he played 200? He satisfies the other criterion.

I think he is almost there. But after his game against the Dogs he may not make it.
