Cannot remember him being delisted, can only assume that Ackerley deserted us when he moved to North Melbourne.

May be Bevo's superior on the field, at this stage, but until Bevo decides he wants out of the fold, he IS worthy of tying Ackerley's shoelaces......together I hope.

Now there is a slippery piece of work if ever there was one. Was one of THE faceless agitators behind the scenes, as I understand because he was a school teacher and reputedly had some brains. Took the filthy lucre then mysteriously found that Sydney was not his town after a couple of years. He was hardly fearless and was as loose as granny's teeth. Probably best described as a sweeping back pocket who was no good in the guts. As they said in the old days pocket was the last place before the heave ho.

There was an "urban myth" (rumour) that Skilton was asked to stay on another year and play back pocket. As the story goes he wisely refused.
