I'm not interested in turning this into a discussion on the merits of The Footy Show, but for those who stay up or record it, the AFL Footy Show and Footy Classified (not shown at all in Sydney, I believe) are now on live on HD.

7HD and 10HD have been showing "AFL Game Day" and "Before The Game" in Sydney in their Victorian timeslots. Complete with Victorian ads the first few times. I was wondering when (or if) 9HD would follow suit.

These "innovations" have got me wondering whether for the next broadcast agreement the FTA channels might take on Fri. nights (unlikely) or at least regular Sat. nights (more probable) on their HD channels while maintaining "regular" programming on SD in Sydney & Bris.

For 7 in particular I can't see it costing them anything to do.

It'd be nice.

Foxtel might have something to say about. As usual they want as little games as possible on FTA. So, only games intially assigned to 7 and 10 would probably be shown on HD channel in paralel with SD, but not Foxtel.
