    ANZ = Hole

Given that we have been forced out to ANZ stadium because our average attendance out there was >50k last year, will we be given the same courtesy to be able to relocate games back to the SCG when we continue to have abysmal crowds like yesterdays?

30k in a ground designed to hold 85k is a joke and it will only get worse.

It was actually 34,900, still a decent crowd and it looked fine to me. No one in Melbourne complains when they get 34,900 to a game at the MCG. The mistake was only in scheduling a game against the Bombers there. They should have stuck with St Kilda.

What they should have done this year was make the "three game pass" a four game pass.

My sister in law bought one for her family, and picked the night games only (as her choice of three out of four) as her teenagers work during the day on the weekends.

I'm sure other people did that as well.

It's the clubs fault ... no foresight.

I'm surprised you guys don't know this.
The reason for the low attendance was due to 2 separate car accidents which occurred on the M4, affecting a lot of people going to the game. Unfortunately, many of those gave up and turned back.

Traffic was bad all over yesterday.
Friends of ours who live on the Northern Beaches arrived just before the start of the second quarter - they had to drive around two accidents on Mona Vale Road.
For games at Homebush, it really pays to catch public transport.

We used to catch public transport (P.T. to its mates) but then it works out so much easier for us to drive down Parra rd and park off there for free.

Takes a 1/4 of the time to get there.

Traffic in Sydney is bad all the time, with the exception of school holidays.

How was the playing surface? I read the the grass was long. If the stadium management want games out there they at least need to accommodate the AFL code and get the mower out on Sunday morning!

I usually have no issues with traffic with Night games at Frigid Stadium. However yesterday it took me twice as long to get home and from memory it was the same with the Brions game in 05.

It looked a little cut up from the League match the night before. I know Melcho said in the papers that the surface wasn't good and he was little worries about it.

                      It looked green.
Does it make a difference how long the grass is???

No way they were going to mow it with Origin there on Wed night. The Leaguies like the grass a fair bit longer than the AFL boys.

ANZ gives preferential treatment to League. SCG gives preferential treatment to cricket.

Time to construct a dedicated AFL stadium in Sydney.
