Which player will cost the Swans $25k

According to this article, under the new interchange rules, if a player from 15 clubs makes one step onto the ground before the player he is replaced is off, it will be a free kick and a 50m penalty. If any of the Swans do it, it will also cost the suspended portion of the fine.

Is that as well as the free kick and the 50m penalty, or instead of, in the first instance?

      And the public humiliation.

I hope next time white gets a game he doesn't get interchanged, he'll be pooing his pants.

Eight clubs breached the rules last weekend with no penalty at all, which makes the $25K that the Swans have already paid seem a bit much.

...I guess they could have been technical breaches (spelling names incorrectly on the post-it notes - "Jarred", no "Jarryd", no, hang on "Jared"...).

One would assume it's as well as.

why would they need to give a 50m penalty on top of the free kick?

Going to send the crowd bonkas if a 50 is given for an interchange infringement, they'll have no idea what its about.

This new rule is a farce. The most ridiculous over reaction I can ever recall in the game.

As we didnt know why the 50m penalty was paid on Sunday aftre the ball came off the trainer's boot and went into the crowd. More stupid over reaction from an umpire.

The new post-it note system is an admission from the AFL that their stewards are too old and too stupid to keep up with the pace of the game. How hard is it to make sure that a player only runs on once another player runs off?

They seem to have trouble during mass changes of 3 or 4 changes (6 or 8 players) at a time.

If it happened 8 times last weekend, it would almost be a worthwhile tactical move to put the captain on that wing and keep an eye out for opposition breaches - and the second it happens, ask the umpire for a count.

The new interchange procedures can slow things down. At one point on Sunday, Angus Monfries was blood ruled on the opposite side of the ground to the interchange area, and normally the umpire will wave the interchange player to come on and save time; but on this occasion it couldn't happen until Essendon had done their paperwork, so the blood rule delay took even longer.

My thoughts exactly. If there were 8 breaches when clubs were being extra careful then how many times has there been 19 men on the ground where clubs should have been penalised like Sydney was. Rule is a joke!

The Swans may as well have the cheque for $25K signed and ready to give to the AFL.

Old farts never seem to have too much trouble counting how many shots they're holding during their Tuesday mens pairs event. And that's after 14 schooners!
