    Umpiring and handballs vs Port

Yesterday's game highlighted my weekly bugbear of umpiring and handballs.

We have all these rule tweaks and umpiring blitzes but the umpires turn a blind eye to the 'impossible' handball from under the body on the ground and many other blatant throws too often. Several from Port yesterday led to goals. Was it Motlop late in third who had one arm pinned threw it to teammate with the other in clear view. The 10 metre scoop that led to an Ebert goal was a disgrace.

Jeff Gieschen reviews the games thoroughly each week and the McLarens and McBurnies etc are regarded as 'leading umpires' yeah right..

Yet when Mattner was tackled and the ball was knocked loose by the tacklers fist in the tackle he was pinged for dropping the ball.

Schmidt to McVeigh in dying minutes.

Was that a handball, I am really not sure
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

That was a perfectly legitimate handball.
