There's a tricky away game against West Coast missing in the initial and subsequent lists.

My wife and I are travelling up from Pucka and sitting with Annie and Big Al. Right by the interchange bench. I'll tell them what I think about the stupid new interchange system.

I will be there for the Doggies game- row 2 in the Bradman stand as dad is making the trip down should be unreal. Unfortunately, even though Manuka is all of 10 minutes down the road Im not going to be able to make the Melbourne game as it falls right in the middle of uni exams (Ie i have one on the saturday morning the day before and one on the following monday and wednesday).

Win three of those four while winning the rest we go in as favourites for will probably get us top 4.

Saying that I reckon this year could be a 14 1/2 or 15 win top 4 year due to the large gap between the top 8 and bottom 8.

Unless the bottom sides harden up (so to speak), this will be a minimum 15-wins year for the top 4. Remember, 'promising but raw' sides like Richmond and Carlton tend to fade as the season goes.

The Weagles could well be back for good (as a team that plays at least mid-level footy), but even if they are, I'd expect that towards the latter third of the year there'll still be 5 easybeats in the comp. There'll be the odd blip of form by one of these ordinary sides (e.g. Freo will probably knock off some good sides at home eventually, while continuing to be jelly-like on the road), but not enough to avoid the comp being significantly less even this year than it was in 2005-2007.

So no, we can't just drift along half-asleep to a record of about 8-7 and then hope to come home with a wet sail and make the top 4. We have to keep racking up wins now-- especially seeing that our draw starts easy and then hits a hard stretch.

Our overall record against Adelaide at the SCG is five wins and nine losses

We've only won one of four last five games against the Crows at the SCG; the most recent success was Round 15, 2004, when we won by 13 points. The losses were in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006.

I reckon we are going to beat them this year, though. Marty Mattner's going to tell us all their secrets.
