Is this the greatest depth as a club we have ever had?

The following players could easily be picked to get a game ... i know we all have different opinions on who should be picked but this list are those that would reasonably get a game at just about any other club or have payed plenty of games for us.

    Hall
    Davis
    Fosdike
    Crouch
    Matthews
    Barlow
    Kennelly
    Brennan

That's 8 or over 1/3 rd of the team. I can't remember a better time at the Swans where we have had so much depth. The only weak point is that 6 out of the 8 are small to mediums with only two talls, Hall and Barlow. And ofcourse our perennial problem no back up ruck man.

Still though all in all pretty bloody goo i reckon'!

Let's see if I get you. (I doubt I have.)

Crouch & Matthews .... they'll retire at the end of the year.
      Kennelly is now injury prone.
Brennan was given to us by the poos and wees.
Davo was given to us by the wobbles ... he's too much trouble to go elsewhere.
Barlow - too early in his career to be lining up for others.
Fossie - no one else would have him.
Blind Barry - has only one more season left in him.

The players that the other teams want are our "elites":

      Goodesy
      Kirk
      B2
      Jolly & Spida
      ROK

IF I were the Melbourne media; I'd add B1 to the list - but I'm not, so I won't.

The rest are footy fodder, i.e. too old/too young/not talented enough.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

        Don't be so positive

Great to see RWO has such positive posters. Your analysis is wrong they are all good players who could comfortably play in the Seniors. Maybe they are not all world beaters but hey are no where near as bad as you guys make out ... cheer up a bit!

Ignore the riff raff, someone left the gate open again!

Fully fit, it is a decent bench to choose from.

Sorry to pop your bubble Swanner, but you have already highlighted our glaring weakness - lack of quality talls, especially rucks. I expect Everitt will be gone next near, which means we will be dependent on Currie. I hope he does well but our recent drafting history for ruckmen does not make pleasant reading:
            Currie
            Shaw
            Ericksen
            Mieklejohn
            Mott
            Doyle
            Goodes
            Sangster
            Feast
... they may be more that I can't remember.

Ignore it mate. I get what you're saying and I agree, at the moment we have more experienced depth in our reserves than we've had in a long time.

                  Orreal: A fair way.
Murphy: Only as long as it takes liz to kneecap another player, have him promoted then steal Roosy's kids.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                      Any particular reason?

They may ver well be able to play in the Swans Senior side. But would they be an improvement to the team?

The thread wasnt asking wether they were better than the current players, what he said was do we have a greater amount of depth than ever before. So if all those guys are capable of playing senior footy then the answer is most likely yes
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

Well if the question is have we got more players capable of being in the senior side well the answer is no. No more than we had last year or the year before or the year before that.

Has our depth of quality improved? Maybe. Slightly. Take out injuries and suspensions, No. Not really.

Are you for real? Hall? Yes. Kennelly? Yes. Barlow? Possibly. Davis? Possibly. Fosdike? Possibly.
