Excellent first half esp. the 1st qtr. Goodes hitting the ball on the fly, was unstoppable. Pity than didn't carry on with the pummelling.

A rather good team effort, with a few better than the others.

pretty slow old dull 2nd half but the game was over by 1/4 time. A good professional performance from the boys again, never gave Richmond a chance and that combined with Richmond's total inability to hit targets made it an easy win.
Thought ROK was excellent around the ground today, Mattner was very good, Jolly fantastic in the ruck and just generally we played very well.
Good win today but now need to go on and beat the coke boys over there and we really will be starting to look very good indeed for season 08

That was great. Good to have a game without nail biting stress ? coming from behind etc. The reality check in the 2nd half is OK too - as the lads won?t be too big headed next week. Note Acker was speaking highly of the Swans gave ROK BOG.

Just came back from the game. What a fantastic win. It would have been a blow-out if it wasn't pouring rain in second half. It was very slippery hence to low scoring second half. Big congrats to our boys.

            Really even spread

AFL.com has Bird as our second best
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I didn't think he was that good today.

What you notice at the game is a little lack of pure speed but a LOT of poise. The goal where he tapped it forward to himself, grabbed it and then with one step, balanced and kicked true ... not many of our midfielders of recent years had that composure and clean skill. Leave him there as he only has one thing to learn and that's the pace of AFL.

MMM were saying he's the one most likely to make way for Hall in 2 weeks.

Goodes was outstanding in the first half. His goal from Everitts ruck tap was magic.

As much as I like Spider, he doesnt have a defensive bone in his body. Could be found out at finals time.

Remarkable stats on Marks. Basically, Sydney played the ultimate successful running game. No one took more than 6 marks and all 3 were defenders. How does an opposition coach plan to plan good old "negative" Sydney if they show up and out run the younger quicker Tigers?

Anyhoo, good effort, just need to crack the 4. I have a feeling Sydney are very hungry for success in 2008.

If that second Goodes goal doesn't make it into the nominations for Goal of the week I'll be peeved off.

Exactly and hilarious. Listening to SEN before the game, they had one of the Tiger's coaches talking (forget who it was) and he was saying 'with the swans you know what to expect and that's hard tight man on man footy, but Richmond wins the most contested footy this season blah blah.'

Well, looks like we did not quite deliver to their expectations.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

The Tigers couldn't keep missing targets like they did in the first half - I'll take that as a win any day even if the 2nd half wasn't as exhilirating as the first.

That 2 minute spell from Goodes in the first qr may be the most scintallating three consecutive pieces of play I've ever seen from an individual player.

They also had Leo Barry as BOG which suggests they didn't actually watch the game.
